Project 2 - Conan

We had to do a portrait of a person in the public eye, and it needed to be someone we either love or hate so I picked Conan O'Brien (because I love him and he's the funniest talk show host around). Points if you can guess what's going on - if you watch the show a lot, you'll probably know.

Oil painting is something new to me but I wanted to challenge myself and experiment. I really love oils now - they're fun to work with.

for someone new to oil paints you took to it pretty well. Is this the method involving colored pencils? I remember learning about that. props on the pose as well.

louise! love your Conan doing the infamous string dance! Have you noticed that he has been cutting it short lately?

Looks great, Louise! The character design is fun, plus you were able to translate the looseness and energy of your sketch into the painting.

Excellent drawings and sketches. Why do you mention these as 'bad art'? Please keep a positive attitude on what you do. One day you will shine.

So I looked at this the other day and was inspired to watch The Tonight Show. I watched the one with Shia LeBeouf and thought it was pretty funny. I really like the stuff you are doing this summer! Check out my blog (once I make it! lol) miss you guys!
